Sparrows, Colorado's performance poetry festival. Performances, troubadours, open mikes, workshops at various locations in Salida. This year's theme is Wage Poetry.
This exciting performance poetry festival began in February 2001. SPARROWS stands for Stories Poems and Relations Raise Our Winter Spirits. This festival is a unique treasure and just plain fun. The workshops and open mics are a training ground for new poets who soon take to the stage. Others come just for the entertainment, which is always fresh, always full of surprises and never ever boring. This festival is for poetry performers, poetry lovers and for those who only guessed that poetry could be this entertaining.
