This year's Buena Vista Adventure Race will be a spectacular course held in the Arkansas River Valley. With Class II-III whitewater, a rip roaring zip line across a canyon, an orienteering section, single track mountain biking and trekking this is an adventure not to be missed!
In the Adventure Xstream race series (with races also in Moab, Durango, Summit County and Vail), solo athletes or teams travel an unmarked course by plotting the checkpoint locations using UTM coordinates and maps provided. Each race has different disciplines including: Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Trail Run/Trek, Rappel, Tyrolean, Orienteering/Navigation, Skate/Scooter. Teams race the entire course together.
There are three Adventure Races taking place in Buena Vista on May 10 – a Sprint (including River Paddling, Mountain Biking, & Trail Running), a 12-Hour course (including Whitewhiter Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Trail Running & a Tyrolean Traverse) and a 24-Hour course (including Whitewater Kayaking, Mountain Biking, Trail Running & a Tyrolean Traverse).
White Water Kayaking: (12 & 24 Hour Racers) The Buena Vista 12 & 24 Hour courses have some of the most fun and exciting class II & III whitewater in the State! Kayakers will have several miles of whitewater with consistent class II and III rapids, which will require "intermediate" level paddling skills.
Entry fee for each Adventure Xstream Adventure Sprint Race is $95 per person; 12 Hour Race is $175 per person and the 24 Hour Race is $250 per person. For further information and to register, please visit www.GravityPlay.com or call 970.259.7771.
